Our Time in the Turks and Caicos Islands: November of 2016

Our time in the Turks and Caicos Islands was a success! Our team worked with 15 budding ballerinas (and ballerinos) for a week for an hour and fifteen minutes. We partnered with the Turks and Caicos Friends of the Arts Foundation (TCFAF), and partners Barbara and Mark Pankurst allowed us to use their beautiful dance studio. Our syllabus included class time, creative movement choreography, arts education through showings of American Ballet Theatre's "The Nutcracker", arts and crafts, and the occasional treat.
At the conclusion of the program, we held a Final Showcase. Each student was provided with ballet shoes, tights, and a lovely purple costume to perform in. We had a total of over $400 to donate to the Turks and Caicos Friends of the Arts Foundation!
